Celtic came up to Clyde in a bubble as footballing royalty, after crushing the SPL proletariat at Tynecastlegrad, but were duly made to look like amnesiac Anastasias. A rampant Clyde side, pumped up by everybody's most loathsome Orc of the 1980s, Graham Roberts, gave a riveting performance.

It was 2:0 by half-time, with two goals disallowed and a missed penalty. This was real Roy of the Rovers stuff and Celtic were the comic Chumps.

Incredibly, this was the match chosen to debut Roy Keane and Du Wei. Keane, despite a lack of competitive games, was a rare pass mark for Celtic; Du Wei was a disaster.

Hooked at the interval, he had conceded a penalty, was incredibly allowed to stay on the pitch when a red card looked certain and generally looked lightweight and overpowered by the pace of the game. His replacement, Virgo, looked and played like a lumpy bar football figure.

To round things up for the defence, McManus, a real Jekyll and Hyde, was lost without Balde and was a mess while Telfer was... Telfer- in spades.

The midfield was disjointed and Nakamura and Keane looked shocked at the drop in the team's class.

Celtic could hardly get at the Clyde goal and when they did they fluffed it!

The late introduction of Zurawski saw a goal pulled back after 82 minutes, but it was too little too late.

In four decades watching Celtic, this season has played host to our two worst performances. This was as embarrassing as Bratislava and was actually worse to watch. We obviously have not learned the lesson from the start of the season. Clearly something is not right in the dressing room as Strachan sets his mark on the team.

I will not dignify this game with further comment in case I - like many who have not yet choked on their bile after this result - suffer a coronary.
