Hartson A poor, poor game, but that doesn't mean there weren't moments of deep joy, especially when it involves beating Jim Jeffries and his ass. Billy 'We've been putting with this for Hundreds of years!' Brown. Given our recent displays three points are most welcome, regardless of how we gather them, and so it was here. First McGeady clipped a cracking free kick over the wall after one of the Killie defenders had handled it away. A harsh decision according to Jeffries, but that was just the start of his apoplexy. Until Celtic scored Kilmarnock had actually been the better team, giving us more than a few scares, but the goal lifted us and we gradually got in to some sort of stride. The game was won when Camara was up -ended in the penalty area, again much to the annoyance of Jeffries. That was nothing compared to the war dance of dissent he performed only minutes later. Agathe produced a perfect tackle in the penalty area and Jim's head nearly came off as he claimed a penalty. He seemed unclear on the rule that a brilliantly timed legitimate tackle doesn't merit a penalty, no matter how much you hate Celtic. Some things are too good to be true and at the moment a Celtic clean sheet is just that; a chimera, a figment of the imagination. Jeffries announced after the game that his team had scored the best goal of the game. Even the reporters seemed bored with him as they relayed his latest rant to the public. |
