It's one of the more curious aspects of football, often the most creative of players will be the most conservative and defensive of managers (c. George Graham). Conversely, players who made their name with a more... shall we say, 'rugged' style, often prefer to play the game the way they couldn't. Stein was no Franz Beckenbauer, Alex Ferguson was famed for his elbows-out style and Tony Mowbray wasn't going to make anyone launch in to raptures about his silky footwork. Yet the latter is on his way to making (shock, horror) an entertaining Hibs team.

Let's not dress this up - we mugged Hibs. They were the better team and they should have won the game. Our victory owed everything to McGeady and Hartson. Hibs' defeat owed a lot to poor finishing.

Let's just hope this was a case of saving ourselves for Tuesday.
