Finally we start going up through the gears.

Whether the absence of both Lennon and Lambert is a one off or not it would be fair to say that most people approved of the new midfield. Liam Miller continues to look a player, Jackie made the most of his chance, including a fantastic goal, and Petrov looked more comfortable.

Up front it's a damn shame we don't have Sutton, but Maloney was outstanding. His goal was a real gem; an improvised back heel for a 1-2 with Henrik, and a fine finish at the end. Henrik was just Henrik, so enjoy it while you still can.

At the other end Magnus Hedman put a stop to the Douglas v Hedman debate. Douglas every day of the week and twice on match days.
