The exertions of Europe and the re-jigging of the pack to cope with the loss of three strikers is taking its toll on the team. This was another jaded performance, even though it was the customary three points won from the game. The silver-lining in the cloud is that Marshall looks assured in goal and that even when up-front alone, Larsson is still such an all- rounder the team manages to gel into a potent attacking force.

To their credit, Dundee try to play good football, which made for an entertaining game on the night. Early chances fell to Thompson and Larsson, but Speroni saved well, while at the other end Novo hit the side netting. Marshall also did his bit in the Celtic goal by keeping out Fotheringham and Barret.

At the sharp end of the Celtic team Larsson was doing overtime and managing to combine well with support from Petrov and Pearson. This eventually led to the opener, when Petrov broke from defence and sent a super drive low past Speroni having been put through on the 'keeper by Pearson.

The second goal was a trademark set piece (yawn) which Larsson converted at the second attempt after being left unmarked (yawn). This was the Swede's 30th of the season and his 231st for Celtic. Remarkably, it equalled Bobby Lennox's league record of 167 goals and Steve Chalmers' scoring record for Celtic. Even more remarkably, opposition defences don't seem to pay this record heed and regularly leave the Swede unmarked in the box.

Dundee snatched a consolation goal at the death, but this was small beer. The Celtic juggernaut rolls on.
