Another pleasant outing at Pleasantville, putting more pressure on the Orcs and confirming Celtic's dominance at the top of the SPL.

This was an accomplished Celtic performance, even though minds were clearly on Lyon. Larsson and Sutton looked up for it, and Henke was unfortunate not to get his name on the score sheet.

The goals, both of which came in the second half were classics. The first from Sutton was a text book turn and shot from 14 yards, that merely confirmed Celtic's supremacy. The second was a peach from Thompson from 20 yards, catching the ball on the drop from a headed clearance and sending it dipping through a ruck of players and bouncing past the keeper into the corner.

Livi, didn't have much to reply with, a fact candidly acknowledged by Davie Hay after the match. A bicycle kick late on which skied over the bar was about the only threat to Hedman's goal all afternoon.

The only damper on the day's proceedings was the loss of Mc Namara with what looked like a dislocated shoulder after he fell awkwardly. His loss, just before Lyon, may prove incalculable, given the suspensions and injuries afflicting the team for this match.
