Premier League Sunday November 17th Celtic 4 Partick Thistle 0 1:0 Whyte (o.g.10); 2:0 Petrov (33); 3:0 Petrov (68); 4:0 Larsson (90) Att: 57,839 MIB: Kevin Toner
Celtic: Douglas; Valgaeren, Balde (Fernandez 71), Laursen; Agathe, Lennon (Crainey 79), Lambert, Petrov (Maloney 79), Thompson; Larsson, Sutton Oh just picture it! Half time at Pittodrie, the huns 1-0 to the good, and them all singing 'Tell all the Tims you know - that we're top of the league and you're no!' You'll have to sing it louder boys, we can't here you away down there. After the unconfined joy of having Souness grannied (his last four results against Celtic have been 2:0, 3:0, 1:0 and 2:0 for the Hoops), we then had the chance to get back to where we should be. What a top week. Thistle had given us hard games in the last two meetings, but this time we had the first team out, and it was no match. Derek Whyte scored his first goal for Celtic in eleven years, Petrov reinforced his bargaining position, and Henrik kept on course for another 50. After the match Lambie pointed out that Porto, Juve and Valencia had all found this a hard place to visit. Sometimes when all you read about is how poor our football is you have to remind yourself that we're building a reputation again. It might not be great just now, but teams would rather avoid us than get us. |
