SPL Saturday March 16th Celtic 1 Dundee United 0 1:0 Petrov (40) Att: 58,392 MIB: Mike McCurry Celtic: Douglas; Mjallby, Boyd Crainey; Agathe, Lennon, Lambert, Petrov, Guppy; Moravcik (Smith 71), Larsson So who is the bloke dressed as Steve Guppy? It's nice to see him finally putting in a shift after some of the hopeless mince we've seen from him. He doesn't have blistering pace and isn't especially tricky, but he does fire in a better than half decent cross; in fact he's the exact opposite of Agathe. The right wing man had one of those infuriating days of his; he tortured the full back so much that Amnesty International were threatening to get involved, but his crosses either hit the nearest defender, or the furthest steward. All that good work wasted. It can get very infuriating, although there are few sights in the game as thrilling as watching him give a defender 5 yards of a start and still comfortably sail past him. This game was all about missed chances. Truth be told 5:0 wouldn't have embarrassed United given the absolute tanking they received. The winning goal was scored after a deft one-two between Stan and Henke. Only two more wins to go before we can crack out the Cuban cigars and hail the barman for an extra large Tia Maria. |
