A tribute to the those fans who travel near and far to support the Hoops in Europe...

AC Milan 2004
Bayern 2003

Anderlecht 2003

After 90 minutes at the Stade Constant Vanden Stock we had to stand and take stock of the fact that the search for the elusive away Champions League point would have to continue elsewhere. Even when the home team were reduced to ten men it just seemed to spur Anderlecht on to prove that when it comes to travelling in the Champions League, Celtic are no Allan Whickers.

Neuchatel Xamax: 1991

... and by golly do these fans who were at the Neuchatel Xamax game in 1991 deserve a tribute, for they had to endure a performance that surpassed even Celtic's dismally low standards of the 90s. The Swiss team's diminuitive Egyptian centre forward helped himself to a sackload of goals in their 5:1 victory and was left at the end of the match to ponder a riddle more perplexing than the ,ystery of the Sphynx; why did Liam Brady only play three at the back in a European away tie??

Olympique Lyon UEFA Cup, 1999

Although overshadowed by Henrik Larsson's injury, this was a match which saw Celtic under John Barnes produce a jaw-dropping away performance in Europe. The game itself resulted in a 1:0 defeat but it could easily have been 2:1 to the Hoops had 'teenage striking sensation Mark Burchill' (copyright M. Burchill's agent and the Celtic View) put away a couple of golden opportunities. However, any thoughts of progression in that year's tournament were quickly dashed as soon as we had a glimpse of life without Larsson. The home leg was duly lost by the same scoreline ... Caley Thistle awaited.
